Welcome to AED814: Agricultural Marketing and Price Analysis
The purpose of this unit is to equip students with skills for analyzing agricultural markets and prices, in order to identify and develop marketing opportunities for agricultural commodities and inform agricultural marketing policy.
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
1. Examine and recommend marketing channels for different agricultural commodities;
2. Apply the theories of demand and supply to analyze market prices and quantities;
3. Explain temporal, spatial and other price trends for agricultural commodities;
4. Identify and analyze strategies for hedging agricultural commodities against price fluctuations;
5. Perform agricultural price forecasting to make better decisions;
6. Analyze effect of market structure, conduct and performance on agricultural prices
